Story: Summer is finally here and the garden is suddenly alive with colour under bright blue skies. Everything is as it should be: trees in full leaf, their canopy providing welcome shade; poppies turning their faces to the sun; foxgloves growing tall, an offering to our treasured bees. But that is the garden that came with the house, planted by others, the child of someone else's beautiful imagination. So far I've added just one touch of my own – the rose arbour I'd always wanted. And already the rose vines wind their way round the arch with the promise of flowers yet to come. So I'll sit here on the grass and pretend I'm not waiting. But I am. I'm just waiting for the roses.
