Story: I venture outside hesitantly, wearing my raincoat and wellington boots. The weather has been a trickster of late, tempting me out with sunshine and then drenching me with rain. I walk along my favourite path, stopping to smell the flowers and looking far beyond where I find myself, towards the distant trees on the horizon. Beneath my feet, the path shimmers, the colours of the blooms and the sky reflected in yesterday's puddles. And I forgive the weather its caprices. Spells of sunshine and sudden downpours have quietly conspired to deliver a surfeit of beauty: a rainbow of flowers, majestic trees in full leaf, and a patchwork path. I look up at the sky, bright blue with a smattering of fluffy white clouds that might suddenly turn angry and grey, and I smile. I wouldn't have it any other way.
