Story: I sit at the water's edge, gentle waves lapping at my toes, and watch the boats as they sail round the bay. I wonder about those who live in the houses that line the water, about what it would be like to trail sand into your home and have a backyard lined with palm trees, and I allow myself to imagine that one day I might live somewhere like this, have a boat, maybe, and wake up each day to blue skies and blue water. I know that back in the city, these thoughts will leave me, and I will live my life in fast forward, excited to keep up with the pace. But for now, I'm set to slowly unwind, and I'm dreaming holiday dreams.
