Story:
We were in the middle of the ocean, no land in sight, when the world went dark.
We're experienced hands, but this was beyond anything we'd ever encountered: no crashing waves, no thunderous sky, just the blackest black and silence.
So when we emerged from that to see a shining coast ahead, we stood on deck and gasped in wonder and gratitude.
The stars above were none we'd seen before, and the land ahead was an unknown country. We knew not what we might expect to find there, but we set a course towards it nonetheless.
We'd heard tell of sailors and ships that vanished into thin air, never to be seen again, and now we sense that we might have joined their number, never to return to the place whence we came.
If the legend is true, we're now fated to live out a different destiny than that we'd thought was our own.
So bid us good fortune as we venture towards a city of lights the likes of which we've never seen before, and say a prayer for sailors to destinations unknown.
Sometimes a force of nature rips through your plans for your life, shredding them into pieces so small you can't reconstruct the map you so carefully drew up for yourself.
You're left with no choice but to set a new course and hope fate will be kind and luck in your favour.
So sail forth and head for the lights you can see, for that place up in front of you might be the place where you're meant to be.
