Story: When someone slips out of your life after you have loved them for so long, you don't think things can ever be the same again. For the longest time, there is an aching emptiness. Silent tears at strange times. Words that hurt, because they remind you of something he once whispered to you and you alone. And then a day comes when you find that you haven't thought about it at all. Life takes over, and you ride along with it. And suddenly you feel that you can be content, and perhaps that is enough.

So when he walked into my life, I was not expecting him. He sneaked up on me quietly, which was perhaps the best way, because, at that time, I was unprepared for soaring happiness...

About the artwork: Created as a collaboration between sisters Samantha and Diana Shaul, this is an illustrated piece of microfiction, presented as a page from a manuscript.

The story was written by Samantha and the text has been printed on the paper using a laser jet printer, adding an air of authenticity. The illustration was created by hand by Diana after the printing of the text. The artwork is signed by both sisters.
