Story: The ballroom was abandoned years ago, at a time when owning such a beautiful space would have been a source of shame. In any case, no one would've had any use for it back then: dancing had been outlawed, and celebrations of any kind were rare. Now I find myself in the spot where it once stood. The walls are gone, but the grand staircase is intact, leading nowhere, but surrounded by blossom trees. And making their grand entrance from the sky are butterflies of every colour and type. They flutter between the balusters and alight on the steps and rest on the handrails, filling the empty space with their dance. I turn on my heel and walk away. I am restorer of buildings, but there's nothing about this that I'd ever change. Hope has found her own way.
