Story:
Outside the summer sky has turned dark, the black clouds broken only by flashes of lightning.
The thunder comes in rolls, forbidding and frightening to creatures created for warmth and bright sunshine and dappled shade.
So we ventured here, flying through the grate and into the cellar, a sanctuary where we can wait out the storm.
We call it our haven.
There are times when you need to go somewhere to just feel safe – to snuggle on an old sofa holding a familiar hand, to hide under the covers with a good book, to head back home and eat comfort food. Even if you don't think things will feel better, soon enough they do, for in your space of calm, you can find within you the strength to cope. So let the storm rage on outside; not long now and it'll be over.
For now, you have your refuge, your shelter, your home, your haven.
