Story: The only sounds are the whisper of the cold autumn wind, the crunching of leaves underfoot, and the children's giggles. The children are happy – but it's a different kind of happiness from that which comes from computer games and the latest devices. Even though they are growing up in a world very different from the one I knew as a child, they enjoy some of the same things that I once did in the very same way, and I am grateful for that. Technology is powerful, sometimes a taker of the time it's supposed to save, with the ability to draw you in and fill your mind with clutter. But it can't replace that feeling of delight that comes from jumping up and down on a pile of fallen leaves and hearing that great crunch. In this moment, all my worries for what the future holds for my little ones dissipate. As long as they know this kind of happiness, they'll go looking for it. They're going to be okay.
